Cozy spot in BK Heights
Long time favourite. Love everything about this spot. The mashed potatos are ridiculous as well as the trout salad as well as their oyster bar around the corner
One of the best in Brooklyn Heights. Food was great. Interesting cocktails and good wine list. Nice ambience and good service. This will be in the regular rotation
Great food and service!
This is a cute little place in Brooklyn Heights. It's close to the Promenade, so you can take a stroll there while to wait for your table. The Mac & cheese starter is delicious, and I liked the rusted cauliflower too. The flatiron steak with fingerling potatoes was good and so was the burger. The pork chop wasn't bad, but I didn't think it has a lot of flavor.
Biggest side of bacon order I have ever seen and eaten.
Limited but great menu for meat eaters and vegetarians alike. Really nice atmosphere, can have a conversation over meal. Wheel chair accessible and they were very accommodating in finding the best table for us.
Delicious Burger!
We had an amazing time at Jack the Horse Tavern! Great cocktails, solid wine list, and the mussel/clam/shrimp platter was delicious. Check them out!
I highly recommend their brunch. Their hours are a bit limited, they open at 5pm on weekdays, but their brunch starts relatively early on Sundays and the food is always on point.
Great and flavorful food, I loved the vibes the place has, and the employees were very kind. I will surely come back in the future.
There wait is a bit too much being that it’s normally always packed on a Sunday morning when I only like to eat there brunch, but there food is delicious. And also would like to add that their brunch for Sunday 11-3 should be extended or have it for both Saturday and Sunday. Makes it easier for days when one wants to eat brunch on either day. Just saying
I didn't like how close together the tables were along the back wall. We had to move in order to let another couple get up. Our table wobbled a lot and so did the table on one side of us. Our server was friendly, however the service was slow. The food was okay but overpriced. This is not a place I would recommend.
Love this place..great food, service and neighborhood feel. Sunday brunch is a little chaotic...but worth it.
Excellent food; good, attentive service; warm atmosphere; creative cocktails. Whiskey lovers should try the Buffalo Rifle cocktail. It falls somewhere between an Old Fashioned and a Sazerac. Delicious.
Had a delicious brunch here one Sunday morning. The steamer was apparently broken meaning I couldn't get a latte, which is a shame as it would have made the experience a five stars, as the black coffee was pretty bad (even with warm milk). The cafe is cosy, and the food choices are quite good.
Local Brooklyn restaurant, lovely customer service, delicious food
This place has been there forever. All an hearty food, still good after so many years. Try the Mac n cheese!!
The meals are always great and they do a nice job of rotating the menu seasonally. The place has a really nice atmosphere that can accommodate date night and family meal. They only get four stars though because they aren't open for lunch and their hours are oddly limited.
Very good family restaurant. Owner seems passionate and hard working. Price is good, portions are liberal and food is delicious. Relax and have a nice dinner here.
Excellent tavern with cocktails, happy hour specials, and quality food and service
Best pancakes so far in newyork!
Granted, it was Easter Sunday, but the service we experienced was terrible. We had to send one of the dishes back because it wasn't cooked (thankfully, they didn't charge us for it). We had to wait ages for the waitress to take out orders, and even longer to get the bill. Maybe on a quieter day, the food and service is better, but I was quite disappointed.
The Oyster Room is a fave for happy hour. Best old fashioned drinks. Nice and strong and for cheap. Nice food as well. We usually get the fries and a friend bought the Mac and cheese. Amazing. It's a small room. Come early.
Jack the Horse Tavern is an old North Heights standby, but somehow we had never gotten ourselves there. Last night, we finally went, and found it to be quite good. The staff was very friendly, and the dishes ranged from good to better than that. Particular standouts were the Berkshire pork chop, the risotto, and the sweet potato pie. We'll be back.
This was a really horrid experience for us. First, who named this place? Second - one of the waiters had such strong body odor that I needed to put my head inside my shirt every time he passed. And the coup de grace- we ordered the mussels. Which I thought were decent, but left my girlfriend in a puking frenzy on the ride home. Now I think it might have been something else she ate so I’m not pointing any fingers here, but thankfully I had some disposable containers in my car.
Such a cool little place. The oysters were great and the cocktails beautifully made.
Its just a quiet local neighborhood restaurant but you will always get solid food, I don't think I've ever had anything there I didn't like.
Neighborhood spot with great food and oysters.
I took some my out of state clients here for dinner ans everyone loved the steak.
Great vibe and killer French toast. Brunch is only on Sundays.
Great happy hour, and amazing burger & mac n cheese!
Good spot for a nice Sunday brunch!
Delicious food, nice atmosphere and very friendly staff.
Brunch. Delicious Eggs Orleans.
Great drinks and great sides
Excellent brunch spot! The Hollandaise is top notch! My boyfriend loves their homemade sausage patties. They serve the largest side of bacon I've ever seen and in New York restaurant.
I make the grub, good food every time
Great food! Very cozy place, with very friendly staff. A very nice selection of oisters as well. The hanger steak is to die for! And don't get an appetizer if you want the mussels. Huuuuuge portion, but delicious.
My new favorite happy hour spot! I almost didn't want to review it because I want it to stay exactly as it is and not get crowded.
Super delicious food and amazing customer service. The prices are great!
Great food and desserts
A surprising find on a quiet residential street. Looks very chic. Good for some talk and wine.
Very nice place. The food was delicious and fresh. Very nicely decorated. Good clean atmosphere. Would definitely go back. Menu is very good. Try their delicious tender pork chop. Sooooooooo good!
Quaint little restaurant with a delicious brunch menu. Reasonably priced for the area, service is usually quick, and the food has been consistent every team we have eaten here. The wait during the summer can get a little long, usually 20-30 mins, but there are a few coffee shops in the local area, and the neighborhood is nice for a stroll while you wait.
Great food. Amazing cocktails and pretty good wine selection.
The food here is excellent! The ambiance is warm and romantic. I like to take my tourist visitors here and I like to celebrate anniversaries here and I come whenever I need a perfectly made dinner. I have never had a bad meal and I have been coming here since it opened. One of my favorite neighborhood spots in the heights!Call to get a reservation. I rarely find a spot if I decide to drop by on a whim.
I've been here countless times since they opened and I've never been disappointed! Just wonderful!! (**and we travel in from NW NJ!) I love the location close to the Brooklyn bridge and the Promenade. The food, prices, and ambience is just right! Can't wait to return and will get the Mac n Cheese and Crispy Fried Oyster Salad. The Trout Salad is amazing!! Steaks? Yeah...those, too. OH! And Sunday Brunch?? OMG!! I really wish we lived closer.
Great food, very friendly service. Bar does lovely cocktails.
Always love to come here especially during happy hour. Great food and drinks.
